about

The sound atmospheres were recorded over 13 days in the Andean Amazonian foothills on the border between Colombia and Ecuador, in the indigenous Reserve of Santa Rosa de Sucumbios, ancestral territory Cofan. During the diverse sound cycles between day to night in the tropical rain forest. The native community is known for its profound botanic knowledge of the jungle and its traditional medicine based in shamanic practices.

During the trip I walked and walked through the jungle , got lost, found my way, and got lost again. I bathed me in streams and rivers. And I contemplated the passing of time in the jungle. I shared daily life with the community, I took part in a ceremony with Grandfather Guillermo Lucitante, 97 years old traditional doctor and wise man of the forest, and his sons.

These experiences had an influence in the listening process , corporal perception and my relationship with the forest . This influenced the rcordings , listening and selection of the material.

I invite you close your eyes and lose yourself in this sound universe.
